Bridgeland - Recycling Contamination on the Rise

Recycling contamination happens when items are put out for collection that are not on the recycling collection list below. These items are not recycled. They are landfilled. This creates additional cost to the program, as well as lowers the amount that could be recycled. Please help by recycling properly. We appreciate your assistance with this. Have a great day!

Acceptable Recycling Items
  • Paperboard
  • Brown paper bags
  • Phone books
  • Catalogs
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Junk mail
  • Tin and steel cans
  • Aluminum cans, foil and trays
  • Office and school paper
  • Cardboard (broken down)
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Plastics #1, #2, and #5
  • Cereal and food boxes

Please rinse bottles, cans, and jars before placing them in the cart.

No food residue. No pizza boxes. No clothing. No shoes.

No items not on the above list should be put in your recycling cart.
