REPUBLIC SERVICES COLLECTION PROTOCOL FOR BRIDGELAND RESIDENTS
Schedule Update
Beginning April 2024 all recycling, bulk, and yard waste will be collected on Wednesdays. See calendar below.
- TRASH COLLECTION with 96 gal Republic Services Trash Cart – Twice per Week Curbside (Tuesday & Friday)
- RECYCLING COLLECTION with 96 gal Republic Services Recycling Cart – Every Week Curbside (Wednesday)
- HEAVY TRASH and YARD WASTE COLLECTION – Every Week Curbside (Wednesday)
- Have all collections at the curb by 7 a.m.
- Place carts 5 feet from any object to ensure safe collection.
- Republic Services closes for these holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
TRASH AND HEAVY TRASH COLLECTIONS
The following items and materials Will NOT be collected
- Dead animals
- Arsenic
- Chemical containers over 5 (five) gallons
- Nuclear/radioactive waste
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Gasoline
- Insecticides
- Pool chemicals
- Sheetrock or drywall
- Solvent
- Power steering fluid
- Anti-Freeze/coolant
- Herbicides
- Pesticides
- Construction/home remodeling debris
- Ammunition or Explosives
- Chemicals not in original containers
- Mercury
- Thermometers
- Unidentified chemicals
- Oil
- Flammable chemicals
- Paint/paint cans
- Varnish/stain
- Batteries
- Transmission fluid
- Used oil filters
- Poison
- Medical waste
- Liquids

HEAVY TRASH and YARD WASTE COLLECTION
- Up to 2 appliances or bulky items per collection day, and
- Up to 6 bags or bundles of yard waste per collection day.
Acceptable Heavy Trash Items:
Household Appliances
- Refrigerators must have Freon drained and be tagged accordingly by a certified technician.
- Hot water heaters must be drained.
- Live Christmas trees. Ornaments, tinsel, and lights to be removed.
- Furniture. Grills must be emptied of ash or briquettes. No propane tanks.
Packing Peanuts:
Packing peanuts won’t be collected loose - must be bagged. Drivers will not clean up packing peanut spills.
Yard Waste:
Bush and tree trimmings cut in lengths not to exceed 4 feet, no greater than 2 inches in diameter, securely tied in bundles, not to exceed 35 lbs. All grass clippings, and leaves must be bagged.
